Is ex-Oasis hellraiser Liam about to join the Chipping Norton Set?

-

COULD the swanky Chipping Norton Set, which includes the likes of Jeremy Clarkson, David and Samantha Cameron and Kate Moss, be about to welcome a new member?

The reason I ask is it seems former Oasis hellraiser Liam Gallagher has been spotted looking around a sprawling townhouse worth several million in the Oxfordshire enclave.

The five-bedroom, Grade II-listed home dating from the 15th century boasts five bedrooms, three bathrooms and an extensive garden.

‘I thought he looked familiar but it wasn’t until my husband got home that he told me the Oasis singer was looking round one of the local houses,’ one resident tells me.

‘There are certainly a lot of famous faces around here and I wonder if he might be the next one because he seemed keen on what he was being shown.

‘I only hope he doesn’t fall out with Alex James, who I know as the cheesemaker but my son tells me was in the band Blur, who he says had a big feud with Oasis in the 1990s.’

If the 50-year-old (right) does indeed set up home in Oxfordshire it won’t be the first set he’s been a part of. When he was with ex-wife Patsy Kensit they lived in the trendy North London neighbourhood of Primrose Hill, where Liam’s now estranged brother Noel also owned a property. He christened this Supernova Heights, after an Oasis track. The house hosted a number of A-list parties which were regularly frequented by the likes of Moss, Sadie Frost, Donna Air and her then partner Damian Aspinall, as well as toilet roll heiress Davinia Taylor among others. Davinia actually ended up buying the house from Noel in 2005. Liam shares son Lennon with Kensit, son Gene with former All Saints star Nicole Appleton as well as daughter Molly with singer Lisa Moorish. He is currently engaged to music manager Debbie Gwyther. Although he recently said he now swaps alcohol for jasmine tea and no longer smokes or eats dairy before performing, should he fancy a return to his misspent youth he’ll be well catered for. Favourite celebrity haunt Soho Farmhouse is just down the road and there’s also a pub right opposite.
