Compston’s ‘most challenging role’

LINE of Duty actor Martin Compston has said he hopes his latest role will open up a debate about assisted dying.

The Scot will star in two-part BBC drama Mayflies, in what he has described as one of the most challenging roles of his career. He said: ‘It’s about assisted dying and two old friends going through that journey together. There’s a conversation to be had which hopefully we address.’

Mayflies will air on BBC1 later this year.
