Cheika happy to double up across codes
MICHAEL CHEIKA will take charge of two nations across two codes this weekend after his Lebanon side secured their spot in the last eight of the Rugby League World Cup. The Cedars — whose team hotel has been broken into twice in a week — thrashed Jamaica 74-12 at Leigh yesterday to finish second in Group C. The former Wallabies coach will come up against his home nation Australia at Huddersfield on Friday night. He then has to hotfoot it to Twickenham where he will lead Argentina’s rugby union side in Sunday’s Test against England. ‘There’s been a lot of talk about whether I can do both jobs but it’s about trying to do it properly, not just do it,’ said Cheika. ‘I want to make a contribution to both teams.’
