You beauty! Boss’s £5.5m deal

- By John Paul Breslin

SHE made her first foray into the industry working on a cosmetics counter at a city department store.

However, make-up artist Jamie Genevieve – real name Jamie Grant – became a multi-millionaire after turning her beauty passion into a lucrative career.

The 29-year-old has amassed 1.4million followers on social media with her easyto-follow make-up tutorials.

Such is her success that her online endeavours now constitute her fulltime work and allow her to travel the world promoting herself and her products. The influencer creates her videos at a studio set up at her kitchen table and her husband Jack McCann was even able to quit his job as a bricklayer to become her editor.

Nowadays, rather than flogging products in Glasgow’s Debenhams, she is asked by brands to personally promote their wares and partner stores. And she is celebrating yet more success after selling a minority stake in her cosmetics line Vieve for £5.5million this week.

Only founded two years ago, the line promotes veganism and cruelty-free products. It is already predicted to rake in more than £10million by next year as it targets the United States, Australia and the Middle East.

Mrs Grant told The Times: ‘I love hearing stories about everyone’s unique experiences with beauty.

‘I feel a responsibility to the beauty community to ensure Vieve is delivered to give each person the best experience possible, tailored to their uniqueness.

‘We’re pleased this latest round of investment will enable us to take this message further across the world.’
