LARRY’S NOT AMUSED

-

‘Heavens above!’ thought Larry the cat, Licking his paws as he lay on the mat. ‘Number Ten, years ago, was such a quiet house. Plenty of food, the occasional mouse. But lately the tension has rattled my jaws, Anger and shouting and banging of doors. So much activity, all in a flap, I couldn’t relax or enjoy a cat nap.

It wasn’t great when that blond bloke arrived in my life, With two kids, a dog and an eco-nut wife. Fancy decor, expensive chairs, Always the worry they’d spot some cat hairs. The upside was that his parties were fun; Smoked salmon scraps were very welcome. Once those days were over, and Liz didn’t stay, Chaos returned and ruled every day. ‘I hope Rishi succeeds,’ purred the lazy feline, ‘Some peace and quiet would suit me just fine.’ Mrs Glynis Williams, Oundle, Northants.
