A lesson in sobriety
INSTEAD of criticising the Qataris for maintaining tight control over the availability of alcoholic drinks during the World Cup, surely we ought to be congratulating them.
The less alcohol available, the less drunken and loutish behaviour will occur. Why should Doha be expected to court trouble in what is normally an alcohol-free society?

FOOTBALL fans who want the whole world, including Qatar, to live as we do are disrespectful of other cultures or naive. Perhaps they have never been taught ‘when in Rome, do as Rome does’.
