Trans rapist struck after being freed

- By Josh White

A TRANS predator has been convicted of raping a friend with ‘her penis’ weeks after being released from jail for child sex offences.

Lexi-Rose Crawford, a biological male who now identifies as female, had previously been handed a fouryear jail term after having sex with an underage girl she met online.

She only began using a female name and feminine pronouns around January 2019, when she was released from prison – but within weeks had raped a vulnerable friend.

At Bristol Crown Court, Crawford, 24, claimed to suffer from blackouts and said she could not remember the incident, but was convicted by jurors on Friday after less than two hours of deliberations.

The former volunteer guitar technician stared blankly ahead as guilty verdicts to rape and sexual assault were returned. She was released on bail until sentencing on May 10.

It is believed that Crawford will be sent to a male prison if she is handed a custodial sentence, despite having been referred to as Miss by lawyers and Judge Michael Longman throughout the four-day trial. The rape indictment specified that ‘her penis’ was used during the rape on the formal indictment used in court.

Crawford appeared on the first day of her trial with a small moustache and stubble before appearing cleanly shaven on day two.

The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said Crawford came around to their home in April 2019 and they played computer games before the rape took place.

Prosecutor David Scutt suggested Crawford’s claim of memory loss, which had no medical evidence to back it up, was a ‘convenient excuse’. Only now can it be reported that Crawford was jailed for having sex with an underage teenager in 2017. Then aged 18, Crawford admitted to arranging to meet a 15-yearold and taking her to a secluded woodland. It comes in the wake of the case of Scots trans rapist Isla Bryson, who was last month jailed for eight years for attacking two women while living as a man.
