Stand by your (Scots) man... country music star to wed footballer
he is a former Scottish footballer, while she is an actress and country music singer.
But in an unlikely coupling, former hamilton Academical player Allan russell is set to marry American actress and singer Jana Kramer, who is also having his baby.
Ms Kramer, 39, recently shocked fans by announcing she was engaged to new boyfriend Mr russell after only six months of dating.
The sportsman, 42, who has a 16year-old son from a previous relationship, began his career with hibernian as a youth.
he later played for hamilton, St Mirren, Partick Thistle, Airdrie and Kilmarnock.
After a stint in england as a player and coach, he worked most recently in coaching at Aberdeen and norwich City.
news of the couple’s impending marriage comes two years after nashville-based Ms Kramer divorced her husband, the former American football player Mike Caussin – father of her two children.
The actress, known for her roles in the US television series One Tree hill and entourage, first revealed her relationship with Mr russell on Instagram.
Without revealing his identity, she said she was unsure if he would be her ‘forever person’ but she refused to ‘push away love just because I’ve been hurt before’.
The star further surprised her fans this week by revealing news of her pregnancy.
She shared the news on social media with a photo of the couple showing off the positive result on her home pregnancy test.
‘I didn’t think it would ever happen again, if I’m being honest,’ she said. ‘I’ve been through a lot, so this has just been a really beautiful thing.’
She added: ‘I’m letting it all sink in. It’s everything I’ve wanted and more. Allan was so sweet. he wrote me this little sticky note saying, “You deserve the happy ending”.’
Ms Kramer, who has had two top ten hits in the US as a country music singer, had previously revealed how the couple met through a dating app and told how she initially had reservations about a long-distance relationship.
She said: ‘When I was on that app, I was like, “no, they live in a different country, no, no, no”. And, you know, even with him, I said, “no… this is silly”. I’m a mom with two kids and I live in nashville, like, how would this even work?
‘And something about him, you know, I was like, “OK, well, let me just see, what does the conversation hurt, right?”’
Soon after, she flew to the UK for a week and the romance took off.
