HIGH art they aren’t but there’s an awful lot to enjoy in The Expendables series of no-nonsense old-fashioned action movies, which first exploded onto our screens back in 2010. Regulars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture return as the mercenary team out to stop a mysterious terrorist named the Ocelot from stealing a bunch of nuclear weapons. It’s satisfyingly silly, globetrotting stuff full of big bangs, epic gun battles and some fantastically cheesy tough-guy dialogue, all delivered with a knowing wink. Joining the cast for this fourth — and, for Stallone at least, apparently final — instalment are a raft of familiar faces including Megan Fox (pictured with Statham and Stallone), rapper Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson, martial arts star Tony Jaa and the mighty Andy Garcia. Expend4bles arrives on Prime Video today, joining all three previous instalments on Amazon’s subscription streaming service.
