Clippie Mrs Doreen Barnett’s dream of becoming a bus driver was thwarted by her workmates yesterday. A ballot among the 180 men and 20 women at her depot decided that driving was for men only. A union spokesman said: ‘She is a respected colleague but people feel it is not the done thing for women to drive buses and take a rather Victorian view.’
