THE OLD BRIDGE INN, AVIEMORE

The Inn has a friendly atmosphere. It has a buzz about it with customers that have generally been doing outdoor activities like cycling, skiing and mountain climbing. The staff are very friendly, the music adds to the atmosphere of place and the food is of excellent quality. ALLANGRANGE ARMS, MUNLOCHY

THE DROVERS, MEMUS, BY FORFAR

I love the atmosphere of this place, listening to the shooters and keepers as they come in for a pint after just coming off the hill. The food is excellent and is all local produce. Eat in the bar or eat in the restaurant, both are excellent. 01307 860322, www.thedrovers.com

THE GLENMORISTON TOWN HOUSE HOTEL, INVERNESS

For that special occasion or to really treat yourself, this boutique hotel overlooking the river is the best in Inverness. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the food is top quality. THE DORES INN, DORES
