From Faisal Choudhry, Head of Re­search at Sav­ills in Scot­land While prime val­ues in Scot­tish city lo­ca­tions are con­tin­u­ing to im­prove this year, some ru­ral ar­eas re­main sub­dued, with buy­ing de­ci­sions more dis­cre­tionary than in many ur­ban ar­eas. Look­ing fur­ther ahead, main­stream mar­ket re­cov­ery is ex­pected to fuel buyer ac­tiv­ity fur­ther up the mar­ket from 2016 on­wards. Sav­ills’ latest re­search sug­gests that Scot­tish main­stream val­ues are set to rise by 17.5% in Scot­land within the next five years, com­pared to a rise of 19.5% across the UK as a whole. Val­ues in the prime mar­ket in Scot­land are also set to rise by 17.5% over the next five years, com­pared to around 24% for the UK as a whole.
