Tales of a riverbank

The eagerly awaited opening of the Tay salmon fishing season was celebrated at Kenmore on 18 January. Anglers and guests, including Provost Liz Grant and BBC Radio Scotland Out of Doors presenter Mark Stephen, gathered in the village square before heading down to the riverbank in a procession led by the Vale of Atholl Junior Piper Band. The provost then blessed the boat before the first cast of the season was made by three times World Speycasting Champion Scott Mackenzie.
