Superpud
Black pudding has won the coveted title of superfood. The popular breakfast staple boasts a high protein and iron content, and a versatile nature, making it a chef’s favourite. The popularity of this blood sausage can be seen in Scottish pudding producer Macsween of Edinburgh’s sales figures. They sold 70,000 pounds of the black stuff in 2015, compared to just 50,000 pounds in 2010. So revered is the black pudding made in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis that it was granted a Protected Geographical Indicator of Origin in 2013.
