CHEERS TO THE BREWGOODERS
A new Scottish craft beer brand was unveiled on World Water Day, with the purpose of providing clean drinking water to millions of people in developing countries. Brewgooder, the world’s first craft beer label to donate 100% of its profits to clean water projects, is the brainchild of Alan Mahon and Josh Littlejohn, the friends and entrepreneurs behind the Social Bite sandwich shop chain that attracted global attention after a visit from George Clooney last year. For more info go to www.brewgooder.com. (Also see Local Hero, p84.) Scottish chef and restaurateur Mark Greenaway has published his debut cookbook Perceptions, Recipes from Restaurant Mark Greenaway. Challenging perceptions of Scottish food by championing the world-class array of Scottish produce through fresh eyes, new techniques and beautiful recipes, the book celebrates Scotland’s finest ingredients from Hebridean Sea Salt to Katy Rodger’s Artisan Dairy in the Ochils, and includes modern twists on traditional dining stalwarts. www.markgreenaway.com and Amazon.
