Our stay at the Rufflets hotel in St Andrews was exceptional in every way, from the welcoming staff to the spacious room and the exquisite food options available.

Driving into the hotel’s grounds you are met by beautifully kept gardens, which guests are able to take a stroll through. My partner and I were lucky enough to enjoy fair weather and took the opportunity to do so during our stay in the suite with a stunning garden view at Rufflets Hotel.

Not only did we have a magnificent view of the gardens but we also had ring-side seats for the fireworks display that the hotel put on that evening. Everything you could possibly need for a few nights away from home was provided for us from toileteries to complimentary tea and coffee with homemade shortbread, which was a nice touch. The suite allowed for privacy as it was not in the main hotel itself but still had convenient access when needed.

The dining experience in the hotel was impeccable. Dinner was served in a cosy dining room overlooking the garden area. The food was delicious and the service from the staff made for a lovely evening. Both myself and partner dined on the steak which didn’t leave much room for dessert, but in the spirit of romance we did share an amazing chocolate pudding.

The hotel setting allows you to feel like you are in the countryside but in reality it is a very short drive from St Andrews town. This provides easy access to explore this lovely seaside town.

Overall our experience at Rufflets Hotel was certainly of a five star stay and a visit that we would be happy to repeat. From the room, to the gardens, to the dining experience, it really is the perfect place for anyone looking to have a romantic break away. Prices from £175 per night for a state room
