The hotel location on the banks of the lovely Loch Earn can only be described as stunning. The building dates back to the early 1800s and was converted to a small hotel around a hundred years later.

After a warm welcome we were shown to our four poster bedroom that was spacious and very comfortable with amazing views. The hotel is very pet friendly and along with the homemade shortbread and coffee, our two corgi’s Dibble and Lucy appreciated the dog biscuits. This is a coxy place that has several warm comfortable corners in which romantic couples can relax. The only downside is that we felt that the bedroom, although very clean and comfortable, would benefit from a freshen up, especially in the bathroom, in order to retain that comfortable and homely feel that you get when you walk in the front door.

Dinner was served in the main restaurant and is best described as excellent. We both opted for the seared west coast scallops, followed by the fillet of Scotch Angus Limousin beef. The steaks were particularly outstanding and were the best we have tasted for awhile.

Stunning views and great food apart, the greatest asset of this hotel is its staff. Those that we met, including the owner, were charming, attentive and obviously enjoying their work.
