One of the old­est li­censed dis­til­leries in Scot­land, Ben Ne­vis Dis­tillery draws its wa­ter from two lochans on the north shoul­der of the ma­jes­tic moun­tain from which it takes its name. The vis­i­tor cen­tre dates back to 1825 and of­fers tours on sev­eral price lev­els, from ‘An In­tro­duc­tion to Ben Ne­vis’ to the ‘Ex­ec­u­tive Tour’. The well-stocked re­tail area car­ries the dis­tillery’s range of sin­gle malts, from clas­sics to an ever-evolv­ing se­lec­tion of lim­ited edi­tions and spe­cial re­leases.

You will find Kingsbarns Dis­tillery in the beau­ti­ful East Neuk of Fife be­tween St An­drews and Crail. The his­toric and charm­ing East Ne­whall Farm steadings were care­fully re­stored and con­verted into a small dis­tillery in De­cem­ber 2014 with ex­hi­bi­tion, tast­ing rooms, shop and café. In ad­di­tion to reg­u­lar daily whisky dis­tillery tours, vis­i­tors can also en­joy a Darn­ley’s Gin dis­tillery tour and tast­ing. Dog-friendly out­side café seat­ing. Open all year.

What bet­ter way to get a Taste of Scot­land than a visit to Glenkinchi­e Dis­tillery, nes­tled in the rolling farm­lands of East Loth­ian?
