Wilde Thyme
Iwas introduced to Peter Bruce at the Scotland Food and Drink Awards in 2015. The conversation went along the lines of how I would feel about selling Wilde Thyme.
For me there were a lot of synergies between the two companies; passion, quality, calibre of people and guest experiences. Our core business and private clients were very different, however, I viewed this to be an opportunity for both companies. For Wilde Thyme, it would be a new chapter, particularly given the support of Scotland’s largest independent catering company such as Entier.
After many months of discussion, the deal was finalised, and we are now 16 months down the line.
Since Wilde Thyme was sold to Entier, it has been great to see the commitment from Peter and the Board by way of investment in our unit in Comrie. The premises have been transformed into a great working environment with refurbishment of all the offices, visitor areas and staff facilities. There has also been investment in the kitchens and vehicles, and there is an ongoing investment plan as our business increases and develops. This has all been great for our team to see the commitment in investment and also to have support from the team in Aberdeen.
The Wilde Thyme team along with myself are still at the core of the business with the same ethos, and it really is “business as usual”. We take great pride in giving our clients a bespoke personal experience with exceptional culinary and service experiences. This has always been the Wilde Thyme ethos and this has not changed. However, we do now have a more structured team with great support that is Entier.
For me personally, it is great now to be able to concentrate on the fun part of the business and deliver our catering services to our valued customers, making their ideas and vision a reality and receiving the amazing comments from our clients after their events, on a weekly and sometimes daily basis.
We would very much like to grow the business and this will be done by continued investment in our people, catering experiences and full events management service. We also aim to grow our venue base and we are currently in discussions to be exclusive caterer in more prestigious venues around Scotland.
Passionate foodie very much wanting to showcase Scotland’s natural larder using local and further afield Scottish producers. My ambition was to provide an innovative and high-end restaurant experience anywhere in Scotland, whether it be in a marquee, Castle or client’s home. Authenticity, original, fairytale, magical, romantic, spellbinding; these are just a few of the words that will be used to describe your guest’s experiences. Authenticity of the brief is key, whether it’s a film location shoot or a royal banquet. We would look at the brief and provide a bespoke experience that delivers on all fronts.
