JAMIE PRIMROSE

‘Sense of Place’ at The Dundas St Gallery, Edinburgh (8-16 June) is the latest unmissable solo showcase by best-selling contempora­ry Scottish artist Jamie Primrose. ROBERT CALLENDER

The first large-scale exhibition of Scottish artist Robert Callender’s work, following his death in 2011, will take place at the City Art Centre in Edinburgh from 12 May to 8 July 2018. The show will address environmen­tal concerns that reveal the enduring relevance of Callender’s ideas including later works like the installati­on ‘Plastic Beach’ which have a distinctly ecological focus. HOLROYD ART GALLERY

Holroyd Gallery exhibits a large selection of original paintings with a Scottish theme, whether it be landscape or wildlife. The art gallery in North Ballachuli­sh has a large selection of oils, watercolou­rs and pastels. There is work from some of Scotland’s most talented artists on display, and mixed exhibition­s throughout the year. THE JOHN BYRNE AWARD

The John Byrne Award is open to creatives throughout the year. They award one £1000 prize annually and a monthly prize of £100. You can share any kind of creative work, in particular they are looking for ‘thoughtpro­voking work that shows a considerat­ion of values’. GEORGINA MCMASTER: ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL

A fantastic opportunit­y to see one of Scotland’s most gifted wildlife artists, Georgina McMaster.
