WILDCAT KITTENS RESCUED IN HIGHLANDS

Scottish Field - - COUNTRY NEWS -

Two orphaned Scottish wildcat kittens have been rescued by Wildcat Haven and moved to a rehabilitation centre in the West Highlands. Often wildcat sightings turn out to be domestic tabbies or part-wildcat hybrids, but the rescued kittens are seemingly orphaned, recently-born wildcats. With only 35 pure Scottish wildcats remaining in the world, the kittens represent 6% of all Scottish wildcats in existence and will help save the species in the wild. The kittens will be released back into the wild at the first opportunity. If you see a Scottish wildcat kitten, take a photo and send it to ad[email protected]cathaven.co.uk.
