Porridge a la Sweden

It was an oat-so good day for two people at the Golden Spurtle World Porridge Making Championships in Carrbridge this year. Swedish competitors Calle Myrsell and Per Carlsson became the first joint winners in the competition’s 25 year history. There was success for the Scots too as Chris Young from Perthshire and Lynn Munro from Sunderland each took the top spot for Speciality Porridge, with Lynn taking part in the first ever junior heat of the championships. 30 competitors from around the world came to share their porridge making skills, with contestants as young as 11 taking part.
