Scot­tish Field met ac­tor Craig McGin­lay, a for­mer Scot­land un­der-20 rugby player from Pais­ley, who hung up his boots af­ter a shoul­der in­jury. He turned to act­ing by chance, and guest starred in the new se­ries of cult TV show Out­lander.

Ward­park Stu­dios, based in Cum­ber­nauld, was look­ing for a new gen­er­a­tion of tele­vi­sion tal­ent to join them, to work on Sony Pic­tures’ tele­vi­sion se­ries Out­lander, in a va­ri­ety of be­hind the scenes roles, in­clud­ing cos­tume, pro­duc­tion de­sign, car­pen­try, rig­ging and many more.

UR­GENT HELP WANTED TO SAVE KINLOCH CAS­TLE

A group was set up to raise funds to try pre­vent beau­ti­ful Kinloch Cas­tle, on the Isle of Rum, from crum­bling away. Built by in­dus­tri­al­ist Ge­orge Bul­lough at the end of the 19th cen­tury as a shoot­ing lodge, fundrais­ers want to pre­serve it and re-open it as a hos­tel, bar and bistro.
