• Crabs are de­ca­pod crus­taceans. • There are more than 4,500 species of crab. • The con­stel­la­tion and as­tro­log­i­cal sign Can­cer are named af­ter the crab. • Crabs have a thick ex­oskele­ton and a sin­gle pair of pin­cers. Mean­ing her­mit, king, porce­lain and horse­shoe crabs are not ac­tu­ally crabs at all.
