A pair of 200-year-old Cary Globes exhibiting the tracks and discoveries of Captain James Cook and Captain George Vancouver’s voyages into the unknown are set to be exhibited at Dumfries House in East Ayrshire. The intricate antique globes, which date back to 1816, were made by brothers William and John Cary who combined their skills to create these delicate and extremely detailed snapshots of cartography history. The Cary Globes are on permanent display in The Earl’s Study at Dumfries House and can be viewed by members of the public through guided tours.
