4. HOLROYD GALLERY

Holroyd Gallery ex­hibits a large se­lec­tion of orig­i­nal paint­ings with a Scot­tish theme, whether it be land­scape or wildlife. The art gallery in North Bal­lachul­ish has a large se­lec­tion of oils, wa­ter­colours and pas­tels. There is work from some of Scot­land’s most tal­ented artists on dis­play, and mixed ex­hi­bi­tions through­out the year. 7. FRAMES GALLERY

“Over­land” is the new solo ex­hi­bi­tion by Robert McGil­vray

Robert has re­cently re­tired af­ter teach­ing full-time at Dun­can of Jor­dan­stone Col­lege of Art in Dundee and this is a won­der­ful col­lec­tion of new paint­ings in­spired by the land­scape and seascapes are his sub­jects.

Robert’s ap­proach is not a lit­eral one but rather a dis­til­la­tion of his re­sponse to what he sees. The re­sult is a very sub­tle evo­ca­tion of the Scot­tish land­scape.
