TRIED AND TESTED
WHAT IS IT?
Thule RoundTrip Boot Backpack. £85. www.thule.com
I WANT IT BECAUSE:
This 60-litre backpack holds boots and ski helmet making it perfect for days at Scottish ski centres or short trips to Europe.
USEFUL FOR:
Skiing. It has lots of surprisingly useful aspects, such as a waterproof section for boots, and padded back area for carrying. It’s small enough to ski with.
HIGH POINT:
It’s very sturdy, has a carrying handle, and padded top pocket for sunglasses etc. It also has a back flap to stand on while changing into boots
LOW POINT:
It’s too small for longer trips.
WHAT IS IT?
Red Original Watertight Cool Bag. £160. www.redoriginal.com
I WANT IT BECAUSE:
It’s time to get out on the water and this coolbox keeps the cold in (thanks to thermal lock insulation) and the water out (thanks to aquaseal zips).
USEFUL FOR:
Sailing, boating, beach, kayaking, etc – basically anything that involves being out on the water, or near water. It also has a lightweight softshell structure that makes it easy to carry.
HIGH POINT:
Two expandable outside pockets, reinforced neoprene handles, an adjustable carrying strap, D-ring meshing to attach further items, and built-in bungees to attach to whatever craft you’re sailing or boating in.
LOW POINT:
Top of the range performance means top of the range price.
