GEESE FLOCK TO MONTROSE BASIN

-

Pink-footed geese numbers at the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s reserve at Montrose Basin in Angus reached near-record figures during the autumn. The charity counted 84,400 geese, just shy of an estimated 90,000 geese recorded in October 2016. Anna Cowie, Montrose Basin’s ranger, said: ‘It’s hard to describe the noise of the geese on the Basin when they are gathered in such high numbers. They are a fantastic wildlife spectacle and it’s always a little bit sad when they leave.’ swt.org.uk
