Trees given to community woodland attacked by vandals
East Kilbride Community Trust has been given 300 trees to replant its woodland following an attack by vandals. Trees were destroyed along with wooden frames, while stakes were thrown into a pond created for wildlife. Scottish Forestry has supported the woodland for several years and took action to help. It contacted Confor, the trade forestry body, which in turn put a call out to its members for trees. Alba Trees, Scotland’s largest tree nursery, came to the rescue and donated 300 broadleaves. eastkilbridecommunitytrust.co.uk
