- nts.org.uk/visit/places/pitmedden-garden

The National Trust for Scotland’s Pitmedden Garden near Ellon in Aberdeenshire has held Scotland’s first drive-through harvest. The apples were picked by members of staff and then packed into bags that were laid out on the lawn in front of the house. Visitors could then select the apples they wanted to buy from the safety of their cars. More than 400kg of apples were sold to customers in 112 cars. Monique Lanz, visitor services supervisor at Pitmedden Garden, said: ‘Our apple day is the most popular event in our calendar.’
