A charity is trying to raise £450,000 to preserve the former home of furniture maker Tim Stead, whose work included the Millennium Clock Tower in the National Museum of Scotland. The Tim Stead Trust wants to turn The Steading near Lauder in the Borders into a museum. timsteadtrust.org
