Auctioneer helps aritsts through online sale
Borders auction house Brown & Turner helped 24 contemporary artists affected by the pandemic by holding an online auction. Seventy pieces went under the hammer, including portraits by Berwickshire artist Gill Walton, oil paintings by Kelso artist Neville Storer, mixed media works by East Lothian artist Julie Barnes, and two pieces by Inverness-based street art-inspired Robbie Mackintosh. Other works at the sale included Tiger’s Head, a two-piece oil by Inverness-based Latvian painter Yelena Visemirska, and equine and elephant oil paintings by Sophie Harden. A total of more than £25,000 was raised. brownandturner.co.uk
