Caledonia dreaming

Thankfully, the Luxury October 2020 issue of Scottish Field reached us here in Bermuda before the UK’s recent lockdown when British Airways stopped flying from LGW, so we have had no mail from Britain for a month.

I was delighted to see a beautiful flat coated retriever with your models in the Dubarry advertisement on page 133 and think it is the same dog on page 127? However, the wee face on page 117, attractive though it is, is, I think, a spaniel – it is rare to see a flat coated retriever with a grey muzzle as sadly they don’t all live to a ripe old age (their only fault…).

It was so wonderful to see a gorgeous flat coat instead of the ubiquitous black labrador – a vastly inferior dog in my very biased opinion. Keep up the good work and thank you for continuing to produce such a high quality magazine. You keep a lot of people happy on this side of the Atlantic.

I hope the team at Scottish Field and fellow readers enjoyed the (not-so) festive season and may 2021 bring great things – including our long-awaited trip along the length of the Caledonian Canal… God and Pfizer willing!
