OVER THE ASKING…

Lots at Lyon & Turnbull’s flagship Scottish paintings and sculpture auction sold for a total of more than £1 million. One of the highlights was the sale of The Silver Frock, a watercolour by Sir William Russell Flint of his favourite model, Cecilia Green, in a taffeta dress, which sold for £32,500. The painting had carried a pre-sale estimate of between £15,000 and £20,000. It was one of 15 paintings by Flint that were sold during the auction.
