KITTING OUT SPACE FOR KITTENS

-

Eight enclosures are being built at the Highland Wildlife Park near Kingussie for the next stage in the ‘Saving Wildcats’ project. Forestry & Land Scotland (FLS), the agency formerly known as Forestry Commission Scotland, is helping the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, which runs the park, to kit out the enclosures. The logs provided by FLS will help wildcat keepers to create complex habitats. Kittens will stay in the park until they are moved to pre-release enclosures, where they will ‘undergo a specific training programme to ensure they have the skills needed to survive in the wild once they are released’. savingwildcats.org.uk
