OSPREYS ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD
The names of a family of Lochaber ospreys are etched on the Perseverance Rover which recently landed on the surface of Mars. The bizarre migration started in 2019 when osprey pair Louis and Aila were raising their chicks Mallie and Rannoch at Woodland Trust Scotland’s Loch Arkaig pine forest near Fort William. Linda Keene of Cumbernauld put the bird family’s names forward to NASA who invited the public to submit names to fly aboard the Mars mission. woodlandtrust.org.uk
