Raise a glass to toast Scotland’s whisky legend

Whisky writer Charles MacLean was appointed an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. The 69-year-old is considered Scotland’s leading whisky writer and a world authority on the subject, and has been honoured for his services to Scotch whisky, UK exports and charity. He began his career in 1981 and has gone on to publish more than 18 books on whisky including the leading book on its subject, Malt Whisky (1997), which was translated into nine languages.
