SILVER SALES

McTear's auction house in Glasgow saw some good prices reached at its most recent sale of silver. The only Scottish auction house to hold an auction dedicated to silver, a striking pair of cast silver figures of royal stags did not fail to catch eye, selling for £5,400. An Italian silver model of HMS Victory, standing at 81cm tall and crafted in the mid 20th century, sailed away to its new home at £4,600. Silver tea services, bowls, trays and more proved that the international taste for quality silver continues to be strong.
