White Fox Gallery

So, what’s in a name?

-

The White Fox Gallery speaks of the coming together of its two founding partners: painter, Virginie Renard (Renard being, of course, French for Fox) and photographer, Stephen Whitehorne as they opened their first gallery premises on Lord Home’s Hirsel Estate, in Coldstream in 2013.

A name which, 8 years later, has come to now represent an entirely unique art experience in beautiful, bright and elegant Georgian premises on Coldstream High Street. An invitation to amble leisurely amongst a wide range of outstanding artworks, displayed across two very large rooms. And, should you be seeking the perfect statement piece for your home or boardroom, or a smaller gift, Virginie is always at hand to advise and help you in your selection or discuss personal commissions.

The French and English pair is long established in Scotland, with its wild places, its moods and the everchanging light inspiring not only their own work but providing the creative spark for many of their artists too.

As Virginie enthuses: “we are so proud and privileged to being able to exhibit the work of more than 50 of the most accomplished artists from the Scottish Borders and other parts of the UK too. These include well-established and award winning artists, designers and makers of national and international repute as well as younger, talented creatives just beginning to make their mark on Scotland’s art and craft scene. What we look for primarily in our artists is authenticity of expression, technical expertise, and an innate sense of aesthetics. In return, we offer our customers and visitors inspiring contemporary art in a variety of media, genres and styles and pride ourselves for our excellence of service.”
