WATCH THE BIRDY

Thank you for your lovely review of my book Shearwater [July 2021]. To stop birders falling off their chairs in surprise and disbelief, I should point out that the shearwater is actually ten weeks old, rather than two, when it launches itself on its maiden flight to the South Atlantic. It’s an amazing story as it is, but at two weeks it is just a little ball of hungry fluff!
