ROAD UPGRADE CALL
Organisations in the Highlands are stressing the importance of plans for dualling of the A9 road by 2025, and A96 by 2030. The Highlands’ economic recovery, prosperity and green future is heavily dependent on connectivity. Highland Council has been joined by partners including transport organisation Hi-Trans and NHS Highlands, in an urgent appeal to the Scottish Government. They point to the dualling of both roads as being crucial, with the A9 often dubbed Scotland’s most dangerous road, with many road traffic accidents leading to deaths and serious injuries.
