FINAL FIVE NAMED FOR MCILVANNEY PRIZE

Five finalists have been named for the Scottish Crime Book of the Year Award, the McIlvanney Prize. Named in memory of William McIlvanney, the longlist of 13 has been whittled down to five. The finalists are: Hyde by Craig Russell, the 2015 winner of the prize; The April Dead by Alan Parks; The Coffin Maker’s Garden by Stuart McBride; and two debut authors, Emma Christie’s The Silent Daughter, and Edge of the Grave, by Robbie Morrison. The McIlvanney Prize and Bloody Scotland Debut Crime Novel of the Year are both sponsored by Glencairn Glass.
