International School Aberdeen nurtures a sense of community and belonging for every child

-

At International School Aberdeen (ISA), we know healthy communities and positive learning environments are always built on the quality of human relationship. Student wellbeing sits at the heart of everything we at ISA stand for. Our mission statement encapsulates our vision for a ‘safe and caring learning environment’, not just physical safety, but increasingly during this time of uncertainty, emotional security too. The time spent away from campus during lockdown reminded everyone that a school is not just a building; it is a set of relationships. A community.

ISA is Scotland’s first international school educating children from age 3 to 18 with a commitment to providing exceptional care for every child. Our strength is diverse intelligence, providing something different when it comes to independent education.

There is an integral drive to support every child to find their own place in the world. With a student population of around 500, we provide a comprehensive university preparatory education using best practices in education from around the world.

While good exam results are important, they are no longer the limit of what schools must provide. Schools of today must think deeper, and this is where ISA excels. Our students are empowered to take control of their own learning in a supportive environment.

A sense of wellbeing begins with a feeling of having some control. Feeling listened to and feeling respected. Knowing there is always someone at ISA who cares and is willing to listen is the kind of feedback we get from students and parents alike which adds to our distinctive culture of wellbeing.

ISA ensures every graduate leaves the school confident living life and are as prepared as possible to succeed in an ever changing and complex global society.
