Kilgraston School
Rolling hills, unspoilt open moor, and all just 45 minutes from Edinburgh, Kilgraston is proud to offer children a stunning and safe Scottish countryside campus in which to learn and grow. Situated in 54 acres of the best Scottish parkland, Kilgraston follows the Scottish Examination system of National Fives, Highers and Advanced Highers.
Kilgraston Junior School offers education for boys and girls from five to twelve while the Senior School and Sixth Form is girls only. The school has an enviable record of academic achievement at the highest levels. Leavers go on to study at some of the best universities in the world with 96% of leavers going to their first choice of university in 2021.
In Sixth Form, Kilgraston encourages independence and a ‘can do’ approach which will pave the way for a bright future wherever each girl wants to be; whether that is studying at a top university or making their mark on the world of work with a graduate apprenticeship.
Kilgraston’s Headmistress, Mrs Dorothy MacGinty, said: ‘We instil a belief and selfconfidence in all our pupils, but this is particularly crucial to our Sixth Formers where this is the platform to success.
‘We foster a belief and genuine confidence in each individual’s abilities and their vision for their future and our aim is that each pupil will leave school with independence and a ‘can do’ approach.
‘Our Sixth Form team has over thirty years shared UCAS experience of helping pupils reach their potential and we offer bespoke guidance to each pupil to help them shape their future choices.’
Pupils leaving Kilgraston have an embedded sense of individualism, confidence, humility, and a strong desire to achieve and become the very best they can be.
Kilgraston pupils do not compromise on success; they inspire it and are prepared for their future.
