THE TRUTH IS OUT
Congratulations on the Luxury issue, Scottish Field seems to have coped very well with the pandemic, which is some achievement.
I was interested to read Phyllida Law’s article. She mentions seeing Hess’ plane landing on the Campsie Fells, but in fact he landed near Strathaven as he was under the impression that the Duke of Hamilton was staying at Dungavel, his house a few miles outside Strathaven.
James Douglas Hamilton (now Earl of Selkirk) wrote a short book about it – The Truth About Rudolph Hess. I was in the Cameronians with James and am sure he would be happy to confirm where Hess landed.
