Going green
Living in Scotland's biggest city and with COP26 just behind us, I'm constantly trying to think of ways I can live a less wasteful and more climate-friendly life.
It can feel tricky to do that from my wee flat in Glasgow's city centre but I do my best by recycling as much as possible, buying second-hand furniture and clothing, along with shopping locally where possible. Perhaps my biggest indulgence is travel. I love getting away every so often as a way of recalibrating after particularly busy periods at work. I felt inspired by Morag Bootland's article 'The Good Life' [November 2021] and the decision made by the Baxendines to swap their jet-setting lifestyles for a much slower and sustainable way of living while sharing it with guests who visit their self-catering accomodations. I've added it to my travel to-do list and hope to meet the resident pygmy goats.
