Honouring a hero

A bronze statue of Scottish football hero Denis Law CBE has been unveiled by the player known as ‘The King’ in his home city of Aberdeen. The statue is sited at the gable end of Provost Skene’s House, which recently re-opened as a new visitor attraction after the city council’s £3.8m renovation. Law played for Manchester United, Manchester City and Torino, as well 55 times for Scotland, scoring 30 goals, www.aberdeenci­ty.gov.uk
