The owners of the River Carron are working with biologist and salmon expert Bob Kindness (above, with Prince Charles, The Duke of Rothesay), to restore its wild salmon population. The Carron in Wester Ross, experienced a steep decline in the population of Atlantic salmon during the late 1990s. The riparian river owners are delighted the salmon population has revived, as catches increasing from a five-year average of 10.6 in 2001 to 187.2 in 2020, according to Marine Scotland Science. www.carronconservation.scot
