The Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour has announced its firstever female president. One of Scotland’s oldest artist-led organisations, the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) appointed artist Catriona Mann to the position for the first time in its 145-year history. She took up her post before the society unveiled its large-scale 141st Open Annual Exhibition in Edinburgh, which featured some 350 paintings. It brought together some of the best painters working in water-based media in Scotland, and offers a chance to see works by some of the country’s top artists.
