The gift of giving

I was so pleased to have received a 12-month subscription to Scottish Field magazine from my grand-daughter at Christmas, and while we endure these long, dark winter days it has been an absolute pleasure to read. She said that your subscription offer included the free bottle of Arran malt whisky which has proven to be the perfect accompaniment. Fireside drams and a good Scottish yarn? She knows how to keep her old granddad happy...

Funnily enough, I distinctly remember seeing Scottish Field's beautiful old illustrated covers lying on our kitchen table as a youngster, and my father always enjoyed leafing through the field sports sections.

I particularly enjoyed seeing the images of Scottish sea cliffs in your 'Photo Essay' [February 2022 edition] and can only imagine how wonderful it must be to dangle from those lofty heights. Oh, to be fit again! Best left to the young and the strong, but it's certainly a treat seeing Scotland from new angles.
